2005 Pinot Gris – Willamette Valley

This 2005 Pinot Gris represents the first release of this varietal wine from Domaine Meriwether. Though new to us, our acclaimed winemaker Ray Walsh spent 12 years developing what many consider to be the benchmark Pinot Gris of Oregon.

Bright, tangy and focused, Ray has hit all the right notes in this Willamette Valley Pinot Gris. Softly textured with fresh tropical flavors, balanced acidity and just a hint of spice, this wine is a great addition to the Domaine Meriwether line-up of fine wines.

BLEND: 100% Willamette Valley Pinot Gris from northern valley vineyards.

FERMENTATON: Open top fermenters

AGING: 9 months on the lees in temperature controlled, stainless steel tanks.

Winemaker’s Notes: “One of the best Pinot Gris I have made to date. The fruit came in at perfect numbers and everything went smoothly from harvest through bottling. A flavorful, crisp Gris that represents the best of the Willamette Valley Pinot Gris offerings.”

Serving Suggestions: Best well chilled, the tropical notes of this wine make it a great wine for lighter meals. Serve with salads, seafood or pasta in cream sauce. Of course, it is also a delight to sip on its own!
