![]() 2006 Pinot Noir Rosé Willamette ValleyUnlike some Rose’ wines that are more of an afterthought, our winemaker Ray Walsh carefully plans every aspect of this wines creation. This attention to detail begins pre-harvest in the vineyards; selecting the Pinot Noir that will become our Rose’. Our goal for this wine is to create a rose’ of Pinot Noir that is the equal of the other varietal wines produced at Domaine Meriwether. This is a wine to have fun with. All the flavors of Pinot Noir are present on the nose and in the glass. Hints of cherries, strawberries and red fruits rise above delicate floral tones, soft tannins and light acidity. This is a dry rose’ reminiscent of a fine summer sipper from the south of France. BLEND: Pinot Noir… 30% Rebeche from our sparkling wine production and 70% saigne’ from our still Pinot wine. FERMENTATON: Open top fermenters AGING: rebeche- 4 months in neutral oak… Saigne- 4 months in stainless tank.. prior to final blend. Winemaker’s Notes: “Without question, the best still Rose’ wine I have ever made. A multidimensional wine with great flexibility. Easily identified by its Pinot Noir roots, there is a freshness to this wine that everyone can enjoy.” Serving Suggestions: Best served just slightly chilled. Remember, at its heart, this is a light RED wine. As a match for food, it has the structure to hold its own. Still, this wine is complex enough to enjoy by itself. |
