2005 Pinot Noir

2005 Pinot NiorContinuing our tradition as a leading producer of Pinot Noir from Oregon, we are pleased to release our 2005 Willamette Valley Pinot noir. Like the vintages before it, our 2005 reflects the vineyard diversity of our growers. In keeping with our vision, this wine has spent much time in our cellar in bottle coming together as the elegant example of Pinot Noir that it is. Again, this patience has been rewarded in the style of a fine reserve wine and you, the consumer, get the enjoyment. Cheers!

BLEND: Approximately 70% Pommard 30% Wadenswill clones

FERMENTATION: Open top fermenters

AGING: 12 months in 35% New French oak, 65% in one and two year old barrels – followed by 6 months in neutral oak. Additional aging in bottle for 18 months.

WINEMAKER’S NOTES: A very successful Pinot that captures all the essential components in a classic style. Good color; wonderful aromas; bright, red fruit notes; soft tannins and light acidity result in a well balanced wine. This wine has a full mid-palate and a lingering finish.

SERVING SUGGESTIONS: Bolder than some earlier vintages, this wine will hold up well with heavier dishes. Even so far as a substitute for a lighter Syrah or Cabernet. Don’t be afraid to test its versatility.
